Fun Fact: Croft State Park, where the race is held, was formerly Camp Croft, an Army training site and POW camp during WWII. “Blind Pig” was the nickname given to mortar bombs during that time, hence the race name. There are reportedly unspent mortar rounds located in the grounds throughout the park. It is highly recommended for runners to stay on course. The top finishers in the race are awarded a replica “Blind Pig” mortar round.
