Fun Fact: The Ohio and Erie Canal was built between 1825 and 1832. It provided a successful transportation route from Cleveland, on Lake Erie, to Portsmouth, on the Ohio River. The canal made Ohio accessible to the rest of the settled eastern United States. The fast towpath makes for a great option for your first 100 miler or if you’re looking for a PR time.
