Fun Fact: The original course started 20-25 miles further north, was a mix of road and trail, had a canoe water crossing, and ended at Cook County High School’s track in Grand Marais. In 2006, the course changed to it’s current location of 95% single track and 100% trail. The current course does a great job depicting just how rugged, relentless, and remote the North Shore of Lake Superior really is!
